Why are they Game Changers?
Because there unlike any other conventional hoods that are made from leather. I've been making leather hoods for over forty years and that was the only suitable material that you could make hoods from. Leather is good for making hoods but it does have its drawbacks. It shrinks if left in doors near a radiator and can go brittle and crack easy to get squashed and lose its shape if put in your pocket or sat on etc . I have not made these new hoods just because I don't like leather. In fact I still make leather hoods for some of my older customers. It's because new materials are now available that just might make a difference to looking after hoods and being more comfortable for the bird to wear.
The new material:
I use is a mixture of carbon ,kevlar ,and polyester with a nylon composite. All these materials are combined together in powder form, each one being added by different ratios to get the required end result ... it weight a fraction of leather stiffness with the right amount of flexibility strength plus the finished material is waterproof and breathable in its application. The Hood is printed by a SLS printer (selective laser sintering) look it up on the web... I have spent the last 4/5 years developing prototypes using different materials etc... I'm happy with the latest hoods using the latest materials and am now in a position to offer the hoods for sale for the larger Eagles at the moment . Smaller hoods will be coming on line shortly. The hoods will be offered in a variety of finishes and that will reflect on the finished prices. Stock hoods will be available in matt black and come complete. Other hoods will be offered in custom finishes such as with hydro dipped carbon finishes and many other type of Hydro transfers plus they will be finished in several coats of clear lacquer. Also they will be available using standard spray paint finishes etc etc see photos.
To try and get a slip on hood sent through the post and to be a perfect fit has always been nigh on impossible ..
I've spent years developing a hood that I think will solve lots of these problems. The finished hood comes with a very fine leather slotted beak opening which can be trimmed with small sharp scissors for the perfect fit .. or it can be removed completely if desired and the hood is already a good fit.. See photos of hood with and without leather beak opening. The chin strap is completely removable and can be trimmed to length then can finally be glued in place if desired the hoods are also designed to be used without a chin strap the unique design of the hood holds itself on the head of the eagle.. with or without a chin strap once the correct size is chosen... please look at the photos and the comments these will allow you to understand a little more about the hoods. For anybody that wants to buy a standard hood and hydro dip themselves a video will be available etc... all hoods will be available for a full refund if your not happy with the fit etc , as long as hood hasn't been trimmed etc... then full refund will be available .. Some of the pics are old prototypes all new hoods that are sold now have a silicon rubber top piece to hang the hood up with .. and the new style chin strap that simply fits into two pre drilled holes making fitting extremely easy.. There are pre drilled holes in the back of all hoods to reduce weight and increase breathability .. and the beak opening can be trimmed or removed completely if required.

There is also a silicon rubber hood available for sale ( See video)it is only available in black and this hood can be put in your pocket and sat on and driven over by the car etc virtually unbreakable . and has excellent field use properties... a unique hood in itself indeed ... hoods will be sent out in stock form within 7/10 days custom 3/4 weeks due to the finish required . These hoods are not going to be every body's cup of tea and if you buy a hood with the intention of looking at it and then sending it back that's fine by me but you pay the full cost of postage both ways first class signed and once I receive hood back in same condition as sent out I will give you a full refund for the hood only..
